Dear Community Friends,

The 2011 “Yachts of Love” Charity Regatta was an incredible event and we are so grateful for everyone’s participation.  The event raised $130,000 for the subsidized care program for the new Visiting Nurse and Hospice Care Serenity House.  The event was held September 11 which, of course, was a significant day for all Americans.  Accordingly, we honored our local first responders as celebrity co-skippers.  We also hosted Marines from the 3/5 Infantry Battalion of Camp Pendleton, who recently returned from Afghanistan.

The success of the 2011 event was a direct result of our generous sponsors, donors and participating yachtsmen.  We had a record number of Santa Barbarans participating with more than 120 people watching the sailboat race from yacht club spectator boats.
