Notice of Race

1. RULES

This race will be governed by the 2005-2008 Racing Rules of Sailing, the prescriptions of the US Sailing, the rules of the Southern California J/105 Fleet, and by these sailing instructions. This race is designated Category A.

2. ENTRIES

All SBYC Staff Commodores may enter by filling out a SBYC Race Entry Form before 1030 hours on the day of the race. Competitor may also enter online at www.sbyc.org/racing/. Skippers entering online should check in by 1030 the day of the event.

4. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS

Sailing Instructions are available online at www.sbyc.org/racing/ and will be available at registrtation.

5. VENUE

The racing area will be the Santa Barbara channel near SBYC.

6. COURSES

Courses will be modified windward-leeward configuration.

7. BOAT ROTATIONS

Boat assignments and the rotation format will be announced at the skippers meeting.

8. LUNCH

Competitors and crew are responsible for their own lunch.

9. PRIZES

Trophies will be awarded to the top finishers in the regatta. The top finisher will win the Deardorff perpetual trophy for 2007.

10. RADIO COMMUNICATION

The race committee will monitor VHF channel 71.

11. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY

Participants in this event compete entirely at their own risk. See Rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
