NOTICE OF RACE

Hot Chocolate Regatta and Clinic
Santa Barbara Yacht Club

February 10, 2007

1. HOST AND ORGANIZING AUTHORITY
The regatta is hosted and organized by the Santa Barbara Sea Shell Association, Santa Barbara Youth Foundation, and Santa Barbara Yacht Club.

2. RULES
This regatta will be governed by the 2005-2008 Racing Rules of Sailing, the prescriptions of U.S. Sailing, the rules of the US Sabot class, this NOR, and by the Sailing Instructions.

3. CLASSES
The clinic and races will be held in US Sabots.

4. ENTRY
Registration for Sabots sailors is free and will take place at SBYC the day of the event.  Please RSVP with  Page Hiller-Adams (sb.adams@verizon.net).

5. VENUE & SAILING AREA
All pre- and post-sailing activities will take place at the Santa Barbara Yacht Club.  The sailing area will be Santa Barbara Harbor or the Channel near the harbor entrance.

6. SCHEDULE
Saturday, June 24, 2006
9:00-9:20:  Registration and hot chocolate at the Yacht Club
9:20-1030:  “Chalk talk” by SBYF Junior RaceTeam
10:30-11:30: Walk to the launching ramp, rig boats, lunch served
11:30-12:30:  On-the-water coaching by SBYF Junior Race Team
12:30-3:45: Racing, inside or outside depending on skippers and weather
3:45-4:30:  Store boats
4:30:  Awards presentation at the Yacht Club

7. LUNCH
Lunch will be provided at no cost to Sabot sailors.

8. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
Copies will be available at registration.

9. SCORING
The Low Point Scoring System of Appendix A shall apply except that all races shall be counted.

11. PRIZES
Placement awards will be given to the top three finishers; all other skippers will receive participation awards.
