2005 RACE MANAGEMENT SEMINARS

Once again, the Southern California Yachting Association will sponsor US SAILING Race Management Seminars in each of the five harbor areas.  These seminars cover the race management parts of the new 2005-2008 Racing Rules.  They are intended for those who wish to expand their limited knowledge of Race Management, those who would like to become US SAILING Club Race Officers, and anyone else interested in refreshing there knowledge of the rules and learning the new 2005 changes. 

The seminars are open to the public; however, membership in US SAILING is required prior to applying for US SAILING Club Race Officer.  Completion of the study questions prior to the seminar is extremely important.

All seminars start with check in at 08:00 and finish about 5:00 pm.  They include a light continental breakfast and lunch.  You MUST bring a copy of The Racing Rules of Sailing and a completed copy of the Basic Race Management Study Questions (using the 2000-2004 rule book is OK).The study questions are available from the US SAILING Website at www.ussailing.org/racemgt/Race_Officer_Prog/Study_Questions.htm.  Copies of the 2005-2008 RacingRules of Sailing will be on sale at the seminars for $15.00.  These Basic Seminars meet the seminar and testing requirements for US Sailing Club Race Officer.
